Rajasthan is such a state of India, on hearing its name, pictures of beautiful palaces built on the golden desert, colorful costumes, and high sand dunes come to the fore. But in the heat of Rajasthan, there is a gust of cold wind. Mount Abu is the hill station of Rajasthan. Mount Abu is also known as Shimla of Rajasthan.

Location- It is located in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan state. It is a hill station situated in the hills of Aravali, which is situated on a 22 km long and 9 km wide rocky plateau.

Mount Abu’s attractive place –

Nakki Lake – This lake built in the middle of Mount Abu is the attraction here. See the view of this lake surrounded by Aravalli hills from all sides or go boating. This is a place liked by many people.

Toad Rock – Its way goes from Nakki Lake itself, the shape of this mountain looks like a frog, hence it is called   Toad Rock. One has to climb a little to reach here, those who are fond of trekking must visit this place.

Guru-Shikhar – This is the highest hill of Mount Abu and the entire Aravalli range. There is also a temple of Guru Dattatreya on this hill built at an altitude of 1772 meters above sea level. Apart from this, Chandi, Shiva, and Meera temples are also built on this hill. From this hill, you can see the entire Mount Abu at a glance.

Dilwara Jain Temple – There is no better place to see the unique confluence of religion and architecture in Mount Abu than the Dilwara Jain Temple. These five temples have been dedicated to five Jain Tirthankaras at different times. Shree Mahaveer Swami Temple, Shree Adinath Temple, Shree Parshavnath Temple, Shree Rishibhadoji Temple, and Shree Nemi Nath Ji Temple, everywhere the fine workmanship done on marble will surprise you.

Shree Raghunath Temple – Shree Raghunath Temple built near Nakki Lake is important for both locals and tourists. This temple is dedicated to Shri Raghunath, who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that by coming here the sorrows and pains of the devotees go away.

Brahmakumari Ashram – Mount Abu also has the headquarters of the spiritual community Brahmakumaris. There are 4 parts here with Madhuban, Shantivan, Om Shanti Retreat Center, and Shanti Sarovar in which you can connect with spirituality by spending some time.

Sunset Point Mount Abu – Sunset Point, located at a distance of 2 km from Nakki Lake, is very attractive to watch the setting sun after about 5 pm in the evening.

Temple of Achleshwar Mahadev Ji – Achal Garh is near the fort, here Shiva’s toe is worshipped, besides this, there is a temple of Bajni Nandi made of five metals.

How to reach Mount Abu –

Air travel – Udaipur airport is the nearest to reach Mount Abu. From here you can cover a distance of 185 km to Mount Abu by taxi.

Rail travel – The nearest station from Mount Abu is Abu Road Railway Station. The station is just 28 km away from the main city. And you can easily get a bus or taxi from here.

Road trip – Mount Abu is connected to all major cities by road. You will easily get direct buses from Jaipur, Udaipur, Delhi, and Jaisalmer.

Best time to visit Mount Abu – 

Winters are the best time to visit Mount Abu, October to March is the peak season here.
