Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a rapidly advancing field of computer science that focuses on developing machines that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. There are many different types of AI technologies, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Some of the most common types of AI include:

OpenAI: 

OpenAI is a research organization focused on developing advanced artificial intelligence systems in a responsible and beneficial way. It was founded in 2015 by a group of technology leaders including Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, and others. The organization’s mission is to create and promote AI that benefits humanity while ensuring that the technology is developed safely and ethically. OpenAI researches a wide range of AI-related topics, including machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and more. The organization also develops AI tools and platforms that are freely available to the public, with the goal of making these technologies more accessible and easier to use for everyone. The future of AI is a rapidly evolving and exciting field, with many potential applications and developments on the horizon.

 

GPT and its Evolution:

GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a family of natural language processing models developed by OpenAI. These models are trained using a large amount of text data. They are able to generate coherent and fluent language, making them useful for a wide range of language tasks, such as language translation, summarization, and text completion.

GPT-1 (Generative Pre-training Transformer 1) was released in 2018 and had 117 million parameters. It was trained on a diverse range of web pages and books and was able to perform basic language tasks such as text completion and sentiment analysis.

GPT-2 (Generative Pre-training Transformer 2) was released in 2019 and had 1.5 billion parameters, which made it much more powerful than its predecessor. GPT-2 was trained on a massive dataset of web pages and books and was capable of generating coherent and fluent language. However, it was also controversial because of its ability to generate fake news and propaganda.

GPT-3 (Generative Pre-training Transformer 3) was released in 2020 and had 175 billion parameters, making it the most powerful NLP model to date. GPT-3 was trained on a massive dataset of web pages, books, and other sources and was able to perform an astonishing array of language tasks, including translation, summarization, and even creative writing. GPT-3 was able to generate text that was nearly indistinguishable from text written by humans, and it has been hailed as a major breakthrough in AI.

GPT-3.5, also known as GPT-Neo, is a model that was created by EleutherAI, a community-led organization of AI researchers and developers. GPT-Neo was trained on a dataset of web pages, books, and other sources using a decentralized computing network with 2.7 billion parameters. While it is much smaller than GPT-3, GPT-Neo has been shown to perform many of the same language tasks as its larger predecessor and has the potential to be a more accessible and transparent NLP model.

GPT-4 and its features-

OpenAI released GPT 4 on 14th March 2023, following the success of ChatGPT 3 and 3.5, which is speculated to be 100 times more powerful than its predecessors.

GPT 4 will be very versatile, and capable of taking images as input; hence it will not be restricted to text only. For example, If you were to input an image of the vegetables in your kitchen, it will analyse the image, identify the vegetables, and tell you the possible dishes you can make with them. The word “Chat” has been removed from GPT 4 because it was earlier restricted to text inputs only, whereas now it can also logically understand and analyse images.

It can also give rational explanations of memes that you may not understand at first – sight. It can write creative paragraphs, poems, or any type of explanation on the image input. It is capable of solving puzzles and games in a better way than most people. It performs a more detailed analysis of any given input.

If you wish to make a website using HTML but do not have any coding knowledge or experience, then simply draw out the look of your website with headings and buttons on a notepad, take a photo and input it on GPT 4. It will provide you with an HTML code in mere seconds, which you can copy and run to create your desired website.

The difference between GPT 3.5 and GPT 4 comes out when the complexity of the task reaches a sufficient threshold, GPT 4 is more reliable, and creative and can handle much more nuanced instructions than GPT 3.5

The success of OpenAI’s Chat GPT 3 and 3.5 has brought Microsoft’s attention to it. Bing, Microsoft’s search engine, has incorporated GPT 3 and 3.5’s language model, hence giving it a whole another level.

ChatGPT 3 can generate a response of 2500 – 3000 words whereas GPT 4 can generate responses varying from 8000 – 25000 words. The responses will have more factual content.

The main goal of developing more advanced AIs is to simulate a conversation that you would normally have with one of your friends. This language model is developed by collecting thousands of text samples from different types of conversations. The model learns how people talk and reply to each other, how they socialize, and how to initiate an interactive conversation. By using an algorithm, the language model is finalized. The main purpose is to simulate an original human conversation.
